Why people move here

Six things the climate actually does for your day

No state income tax, no winter coats

Florida is one of nine states with zero personal income tax. Combine that with an average January high of 75 and you keep more of your paycheck and more of your year outside.

The dry season is long and reliable

From November through April, Naples averages roughly 1.5 to 2 inches of rain per month and 75 to 78 percent sunshine. That is six straight months of patio dining, beach mornings, and golf without a tee-time gamble.

Summer storms are predictable, not chaotic

Wet-season afternoon thunderstorms typically build by 3 pm and clear by 6. Mornings stay sunny, evenings stay calm. Most days you can plan around the rain instead of being trapped by it.

The water is swimmable nine months a year

Gulf water temperatures sit in the upper 70s to mid 80s from May through October and stay in the low 70s through winter. Naples beaches face west, so the surf is gentle and the sunset is the show.

Air quality is consistently excellent

Naples regularly ranks among the cleanest-air metros in the U.S. The afternoon Gulf breeze flushes the coast daily, and there is almost no heavy industry within fifty miles.

Hurricanes are part of the deal - and we plan for them

The official Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30. Modern Kalea Bay residences are built to current Florida Building Code (post-Andrew) with impact glass, reinforced concrete, and elevated mechanicals. Most major storms in the last decade tracked east or south of Collier County, but local insurance, evacuation plans, and shutter protocols are part of every owner orientation.

The seasonal rhythm

How a year in Naples actually feels

Dry season

November - April

Average highs in the upper 70s to low 80s. Humidity drops into the 50s. Almost no rain, almost no clouds. This is the season Naples sells. Snowbirds, tournaments, galas, and most of the year's real-estate transactions all happen here.

Shoulder months

May & October

Warm enough to swim, dry enough to plan. Restaurant reservations open up, beach parking thins out, and the Gulf is at its clearest. Locals call October the second-best month of the year.

Wet season

June - September

Hot, humid, and reliably sunny in the morning. Afternoon thunderstorms build inland and roll west; the rain is heavy but brief. The Gulf hits the mid-80s, and the rooftop pools at Kalea Bay become the center of social life.
